Tragedy struck on Friday morning when a home in our community caught fire, claiming the lives of Julian Keiser, age four, and Jamison Keiser, age six. These two cherished brothers were adored by all who knew them and their loss has left a deep void in our hearts.

Their mother, Evelyn Turpiano, and their grandparents, Jennifer and Vern Ham, managed to escape the raging inferno, but unfortunately, the fire was too intense for firefighters to reach Julian and Jamison in time. Despite the valiant efforts of the community, we were unable to save these young lives. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.

Our thoughts and support go out to the family during this incredibly difficult time. We would like to extend our thanks to the Hoffmann Family of Companies, who own the property where the tragedy occurred, for their compassionate message of sympathy and support.

The Hoffmanns are well-known for their involvement in our neighborhood and have been working towards transforming our area into the Midwest’s very own Napa Valley, acquiring restaurants and wineries. Their dedication to the community is greatly appreciated.

In the face of this heartbreaking loss, the community has come together to provide support for the bereaved family. An online fundraising page on GoFundMe has been established, and so far, over $145,000 has been raised. The overwhelming response from acquaintances, neighbors, and even strangers is a testament to the love and compassion that exists in our community. The funds raised will assist with burial costs and help the family as they rebuild their lives after losing not only their precious boys but also their home and belongings.

To honor Julian and Jamison’s joyful spirits and the love they brought into the lives of others, a local woman named Laura Emerson has placed a Christmas wreath and two plush animals on a water pump near the charred remains of their house. This heartfelt gesture is a small way to show our support and let the family know that they are in our thoughts and prayers.

We offer our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and pray that they find strength and peace during this unimaginably difficult time. The love and support of our community will always be with them.
