A Child’s Cry for Love and Basic Needs
Dreandcatchers for Abused Children is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting abused children and raising awareness about child abuse.
They aim to educate the public about the various aspects of abuse and help victims find the resources needed for recovery.
Recently, they shared a poignant wish list written by a foster child from Oklahoma, whose life was marred by severe abuse at the hands of alcoholic parents.
This brave young boy never experienced the love and joy that a normal childhood brings. Instead, his days were filled with neglect and hunger.
It was only when a vigilant neighbor noticed the horrors taking place in his home and alerted social services that the boy’s life took a turn for the better.
With the intervention of the police, the boy was placed under the care of Dreamcatchers for Abused Children.
This organization ensured that the little one found a new, loving home where he could finally experience the care and compassion he so desperately deserved.
When the organization shared the news with the boy about the perfect family they had found for him, he created a wish list – a simple yet heartbreaking testament to the things he longed for in his new forever home.
A Heartfelt Wish List
Here is what he wrote on his list:
- I want food and water.
- Don’t hit me.
- A house with running water and lights.
- I want love.
- No fighting between mom and dad.
- I want no drugs.
- Please don’t harm my pets.
- Help with school.
- Nice, clean clothes.
- No lice or bugs in the house.
- A clean home.
- A clean bed with blankets.
- Don’t sell my toys.
- Be fair to me.
- Don’t get drunk.
- Have a TV in the house.
- Let me keep my school supplies.
- Nice shoes.
- My own comb, soap, and a warm coat.
- Toothbrush.
A Reminder to Appreciate the Little Things

As adults, we often forget how lucky we are to have these simple things readily available to us. It is essential to pause and reflect on the blessings we have and appreciate them fully.
Say this prayer and you will feel the power of God
Oh, God, help us to live with faith. May it not be said of us that our faith is too small, or to help us to look to You, to see in You, Your infinite power. Your infinite glory, greatness, grander, majesty, and unlimited ability. Keep us, oh God, from trusting in our power.
Help us to trust in Your power. Help us to pray accordingly as we pray, even right now. God, help us realize we’re talking to You, the king of the universe that has all authority and all power, sovereignly ruling and reigning over all things. Help us not to underestimate You in our praying. As we pray for others and serve others, help us to do that cognizant of Your power.
“We don’t want to lead our lives to minister to others in our own power, strength, or ability. Forgive us, oh God, for our tendency to do that. Lord, help us to trust in You. Help us to seek You.
Help us to believe You. God, give us greater faith, we pray. Lord, help us live with trust in Your power to do what would be impossible otherwise. We think about things that we’re praying for, I’m guessing and supposing, in each of our lives right now.
That we know if You don’t come through, if You don’t do it, it won’t happen. We trust, oh God, that You have the power to do it. You have the power to answer these prayers, so we pray that You do it in a way that displays Your glory. Give us faith like that. “We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Everlasting Father,
Thank you for the blessings and mercies you have bestowed upon me. Thank you for your protection and guidance. As we begin a new month, I pray that you, Lord, will assist me in focusing my thoughts on you and remainingin you.
Guide me in letting go of any distractions that may be interfering with my connection with you. Teach me to love you and guide me in focusing my attention on you.
Cleanse me of my sins and assist me in letting go of anything that does not reflect well on your Holy Name. Help me in living a Christ-centered life. Allow your Holy Spirit to lead me in whatever I do. Let it serve as a constant reminder to always put you first no matter what.
Help me to study your word more thoroughly and to gain the wisdom and understanding necessary to apply it in my life. When things don’t go as planned, please remind me that your plan for me is better than what I believe I desire. As each day passes, please strengthen my faith in you, in
