Jane Fonda Criticizes Jennifer Lopez’s Relationship With Ben Affleck

Having friends who look out for you and offer relationship advice is crucial. However, Jane Fonda, a close friend of actress Jennifer Lopez, has expressed some reservations about her reunion with Ben Affleck.

Despite their close bond, the 86-year-old actress doesn’t shy away from sharing her feelings about Lopez’s reconciliation with Affleck. Read on to discover Fonda’s critique.

In 2005, when the unlikely duo starred together in the movie “Monster-in-Law,” they developed an instant friendship. They have remained close ever since, to the extent that Lopez asked Fonda to feature in her latest documentary, “This Is Me Now: A Love Story.”

In the movie, Fonda shares two concerns with the couple. According to Variety, Fonda explained to Lopez, “I want you to know that I don’t entirely know why, but I feel invested in you and Ben, and I really want this to work.

However, this is my concern. It feels like you’re trying too hard to prove something instead of just enjoying the relationship. Every other photograph is of the two of you kissing and hugging.” Lopez laughed off the comment, replying, “That’s just us living our life.

After seeing pictures of Affleck at the 2023 Grammy Awards, Fonda expressed her worries, saying she was “really scared.” She added, “I got really scared when I saw all the gossip about the Grammys and he looked unhappy. I thought, ‘Oh, my God, what’s happening.’” Lopez reassured her that there was nothing wrong with their relationship and that Affleck was just “feeling like he’s become the symbol of the beleaguered man.”

Despite her criticisms, Fonda believes that “everyone in the entire world is rooting for this relationship and this love.” She emphasizes the importance of the couple’s public presentation of their union, stating that it should be handled in a manner that doesn’t overly flaunt it and invite criticism or resentment.
