Jennifer Garner made a decision to save her family's history

Jennifer Garner, the beloved celebrity known for her relatability and down-to-earth personality, has always been open about her love for family and her journey through life.

Her Instagram account is filled with heartwarming content about motherhood and everyday life struggles. But what many people might not know is the inspiring story behind Jennifer’s decision to save her family’s history.

A Legacy Connected to the Land

Jennifer Garner’s mother, Patricia English Garner, had a beautiful childhood filled with cherished memories of growing up on a farm in Locust Grove, Oklahoma.

Patricia recalls how her parents, with a bonus her father received from fighting in World War I, purchased the piece of land that has been in their family for generations. It was 1936, and the family had just $700 to buy the land.

At that time, Patricia’s parents didn’t even own a car. So, when they heard about the available land, they had to hire someone to drive them to the property. The farm consisted of a modest two-room house and 20 acres of land, with a Native American cemetery at its heart.

Patricia fondly remembers her father’s negotiation skills, spending the entire day haggling over $20 to seal the deal. Despite their meager resources, Patricia’s parents managed to purchase the land. And that marked the beginning of a legacy that would span generations.

From Generation to Generation

Over the years, as the family members grew up and moved away, the farm changed hands multiple times. It went through a series of ownership changes among family members and others who bought and sold it. However, in 2017, Jennifer Garner made a pivotal decision – she bought the farm herself.

But Jennifer’s motive went beyond preserving memories. She had a vision to transform the farm into a thriving business once again. To bring her dream to life, she enlisted the help of her uncle Robert and aunt Janet, who had previously owned the farm.

For four decades, the land had been untouched and uncultivated. But in days gone by, Patricia and her siblings were diligent farmers, growing lettuce, radishes, potatoes, and even selling pecans. Jennifer wanted to revive that legacy and reconnect with their farming roots.

To fulfill her vision, Jennifer Garner founded “Once Upon a Farm” alongside co-founders Ari Raz, John Foraker, and Cassandra Curtis. This endeavor aimed to grow organic fruits and vegetables that could be transformed into nutritious food options for children.

In Jennifer’s own words, “Once upon a time… we dreamed of bringing baby food back to the roots with organic fruits and veggies harvested from local farmers, blended with love and served fresh from the fridge. We dreamed of feeling less stressed about mealtimes because we could feed our little ones foods that give them all the nutrients they need – and then some!”

Jennifer understands the importance of providing busy moms with access to healthy and nourishing food for their little ones. The company officially launched in 2018 and has experienced tremendous success since then. Their products are proudly stocked at some of the largest retailers across America and are also available for purchase online through the company’s website.
