First public statement from Prince William on his wife and father, King Charles

With King Charles undergoing cancer treatment in London, his son Prince William has taken on the responsibility of fulfilling royal duties and supporting his family. In addition to attending to the needs of his wife, who is recovering from abdominal surgery, Prince William is also caring for their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Recently, Prince William attended an event to raise funds for London’s Air Ambulance. During his speech, he expressed gratitude for the support and well-wishes received for his wife and father, saying, “Thank you for the kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father, especially in recent days.” The event was attended by notable figures, including actor Tom Cruise, whom the Prince shared a lighthearted exchange with. Prince William jokingly asked Cruise not to “borrow” any of the helicopters for his next Mission Impossible film, alluding to the actor’s reputation for daring stunts.

In his address, Prince William emphasized the importance of the event and the vital role of air ambulance services. He stated, “The past few weeks have been filled with medical concerns, so I thought I’d come to an air ambulance function to take a break from it all! Seriously though, we are here tonight to support London Air Ambulance’s crucial work in providing top-class care to those in need. Having served as a pilot for East Anglia Air Ambulance, I know firsthand the life-saving difference air ambulance teams make in delivering urgent medical care.”

Prince William highlighted the urgent need for a new fleet of helicopters in London, explaining, “Our capital city requires new aircraft, and time is of the essence. By September, we need two new helicopters equipped with the latest technology, including night vision capabilities, to serve our community.” The Prince emphasized the importance of the Appeal’s mission and called for support in meeting the fundraising goal.

While King Charles continues with his treatments, he will not be attending public events. During his recovery, he is spending time at the Sandringham estate. The specific details of his cancer diagnosis have not been disclosed to the public to maintain his privacy and focus on his health.
