Tyler Christopher was born on November 11, 1972, in Joliet, Illinois. He was married to actress Eva Longoria from 2002 to 2004 and former ESPN reporter Brienne Pedigo from 2008 to 2021.

Together, he and Brienne have two children, Greysun James Christopher and Boheme Christopher.

Maurice Benard, Tyler’s co-star on “General Hospital,” shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram. According to Maurice, Tyler passed away in his San Diego apartment after experiencing a cardiac event.

A year before Tyler Christopher’s sudden death at the age of 50, he offered fans a look into his attempt to get sober after years of struggling with addiction.

Speaking on former costar and longtime friend Maurice Benard’s podcast, State of Mind, in March 2022, the actor detailed his journey to sobriety. During the hour-long conversation, Christopher revealed how his addiction impacted every aspect of his life ever since he took his first sip of alcohol in third grade.

“You become an addict at nine years old. Fast-forward 40 years, at some point you cannot survive it,” he explained on the episode. “At some point it will kill you, and it has. Three times I have flatlined, and nobody knows that, I’m saying it right here for the first time.”

During his time on “General Hospital,” Tyler portrayed the character Nikolas Cassadine from 1996 to 2016. He also played Connor Bishop from 2004 to 2005. In 2016, his outstanding performance as Nikolas earned him a Daytime Emmy award. He had previously received four nominations, including a special fan award that he shared with Natalia Livingston for their irresistible on-screen chemistry. Tyler also made appearances on other popular shows such as “Days of Our Lives” and “The Lying Game.”

Aside from his soap opera roles, Tyler also graced our screens in various TV shows. He made guest appearances on well-known series like “The Twilight Zone,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” and “The Pretender.” He also starred in TV disaster movies such as “Ice Storm,” “20.0 Megaquake,” and “Super Volcano”. His film credits include “Shouting Secrets,” “Out of the Black,” “Max Winslow and the House of Secrets,” “Murder, Anyone?” and “Beyond the Lights.”

In August 2017, it was announced that Christopher would be joining the cast of the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives[1] as the son of long-time villains Stefano DiMera and Vivian Alamain. His tenure on the show began December 29, 2017. Christopher left the series on March 20, 2019; his role was recast with Brandon Barash.
